Y’all – today it finally felt like January in Texas – I went on a run outside on the Trinity River Trails, drove with my windows down + sunroof open, and soaked in allllllll the sunshine.  I love to take my Saturdays and Sundays to prioritize self care and a do lil “treat yo self” action, so I decided to take myself to lunch.  Feeling something refreshing + filling post-run, I headed over to Rollin’ n Bowlin’ for an açaí bowl.  After contemplating the menu for what seemed like forever (I’m way too indecisive + everything looked amazing) I decided to go with one of their new bowls – the Coco Loco which is loaded with açaí, mixed berries, banana, pb, cacao, and almond milk + topped with granola, strawberries, banana, coconut, chia seeds, cacao nibs, and honey!!! Y’all – this bowl was TO DIE FOR (I devoured!!) and it kept me full all afternoon!

Not only was the bowl insanely delicious + nutritious, the service was second to none. Owners (recent TCU grads!) Austin and Sophia are welcoming, helpful, and run a customer-oriented business.  So many restaurants/business these days are in such a rush to make money, get to the next customer, create the latest and greatest product that they forget the importance and value of customer service.  That is NOT the case with the people at Rollin’ n Bowlin’!!!!

If you are a TCU student or located in the Fort Worth area and love a yummy, friendly, local place to eat, you really need to take a trip to the Rollin’ n Bowlin’ truck – I promise you’ll become instantly obsessed!!  I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu items (avo toast, açaí and pitaya bowls, pb toast, smoothies), plus they have a loyalty punch card where after you buy 9 bowls or smoothies, your 10th is free!

I’ll see you at the Rollin’ n Bowlin’ truck located off University and Collinsworth! You can also follow them on Insta @rollinnbowlin.

Great Harvest Bread Co. FTW

I am so excited to be doing my first review!  And I’m even MORE excited that it’s on Great Harvest Bread Co. here in Fort Worth!!

Y’all this place is the BOMB.  First off, the owners, John and Andie, are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.  They met at TCU, have stayed in Fort Worth, and just recently made their dreams of owning a bakery come true.  Secondly, Great Harvest is a “freedom franchise” which basically means that all of the recipes and menu items are unique to your local Great Harvest which I think is the absolute coolest!! And they are always changing up their menu and baking schedules.

I went in for lunch expecting a lot of sandwich options (I mean it’s a bread company lol), but was surprised at the variety of options on their menu: sandwiches, toasts, wraps, and gourmet salads.  After what seemed like an eternity of trying to decide what to order (SO many yummy options), I went with the Roasted Carrot Tahini Salad which was protein packed and loaded with so many goodies.  Once the (giant!) salad was brought to me, I practically turned into a vacuum and inhaled every last bite in like 0.5 seconds.  IT WAS DELICIOUS! Along with my salad I had a cup of their Cuppacraft cold brew (they are one of the only suppliers of the local coffee company on Magnolia street) which was so flavorful and energizing – the perfect afternoon pick me up!

Next I went for some sweets: their classic Savannah bar with raspberry (the flavor changes every day) and a coconut raspberry muffin.  Both were to die for – so fruity and the perfect amount of sweet! Lastly, I left with a fresh-baked loaf of their Dakota seed bread that I have been LOVING!

Overall, my visit to Great Harvest was the highlight of my week.  The food was phenomenal, the atmosphere was welcoming and comforting, and the people were so genuine and fun.  Great Harvest makes for the perfect study spot (they have wifi!!), lunch date, weekend breakfast, or a sweet afternoon study break! There are plenty of open spots and the lighting is so natural and homey – I sat at the bar and had a fun view of Magnolia Street. I look forward to many, many more visits to Great Harvest – especially since their fall bake schedule starts THIS week (hooray for pumpkin aka my fav!!).  Be sure to mention Hangry Hannah until the end of the day on Monday September 18th for a free baked goodie with your purchase!

Stay hangry people!
